ABOUT RICHMOND FIRST
Responsible citizenship promotes good governance and builds the common good.
The Richmond First founders shared a common vision of creating an organization that would inform the public and political leaders about a broad range of civic issues, policies and solutions. The spirit of enlightened activism that initially inspired the formation of the organization in 1919 lives on in our regular review of and involvement in current issues in the Richmond metropolitan area. During its over 100-year history, the organization has provided nonpartisan leadership on many issues critical to the quality of governance in the region.

What our Members Say
“In a time of diminished news about government and civic matters, Richmond First offers a place for us to hear and speak with prominent leaders. There’s no substitute for personal access to those making a difference. Another plus is that we really enjoy meeting over lunch with congenial friends.”

Richmond First Past President
What Our Members Say
Our communities function best when we treat civic engagement as a shared responsibility. When citizens invest the time to learn, collaborate, and hold leadership thoughtfully accountable, local government becomes stronger—and so do we. If you grew up in Richmond Virginia and call it home, RFC is like the family table... the "adults table"!
